The strategic development department coordinates a comprehensive strategic planning process and maintains an up-to-date repository of data and analytical tools for the System, its facilities and service lines.
The department continuously monitors the external environment to identify major trends and implications for CHE’s ministry and provides quantitative market analyses of CHE service areas; helps assure the integration of CHEs and the RHCs strategic and financial plans through participation in the capital planning and allocation process; evaluates relationships, strategies and technologies that lead to new ministry opportunities and growth; and supports the efforts of system and regional executives related to collaboration, merger, acquisition, community needs assessments and other partnering activities through market research, data analysis and due diligence reviews.
Strategic development also serves as the leadership catalyst for the system’s healthy communities initiatives including the development of system-wide guidelines for community needs assessments and implementation of a standardized monitoring and reporting system for community benefit/social accountability budget information.
