The Strategy Development function is primarily responsible for coordinating
and maintaining a comprehensive strategic planning process for CHE.
It continuously monitors the external environment to identify
major trends and implications for CHE’s ministry and provides quantitative
market analyses of CHE service areas.
This function helps assure the integration of CHEs and the RHCs strategic
and financial plans through participation in the capital planning and
allocation process.
It also supports the efforts of system and regional executives
related to collaboration, merger, acquisition, community needs assessments and
other partnering activities through market research, data analysis and due
diligence reviews.
This function also serves as the leadership catalyst for the system’s
healthy communities initiatives including the development of system-wide
guidelines for community needs assessments and implementation of a
standardized monitoring and reporting system for community/benefit/social
accountability budget information (the Lyon software package).
Lastly, this function is responsible for assuring that the system’s
initiatives on environmentally responsible health care are moving forward and
involves leading the system Environmentally Responsible Healthcare Advisory
Group, interfacing with RHC and JOA Green Team leaders and representing CHE
in national collaborative arenas on environmental issues in healthcare.
