Supply Chain Management













Primary Role

The primary purpose/role/activities of the Supply Chain Management Department are as follows: To develop and implement regional and system-wide contracting and purchasing opportunities such as utilities, overnight delivery service contracts, and acquisition of common products; and to provide best practice innovation models in Supply Chain Management.


Supply Chain Management will continue to implement additional opportunities such as Group Purchasing Organizations, common service providers, distributors and suppliers that will provide further reductions in costs and promote operational efficiencies throughout CHE; and establish, support, and monitor supply chain management policies, operational practices and processes that promote uniformity and standardization for all of CHE.

Supply Chain Management Council and Task Force(s)*Charter

Mission: Provide exceptional services (e.g. value analysis, sourcing and contracting, procurement, informatics, inventory management, distribution) to customers (e.g. vendors, clinicians, physicians, allied health professionals and ultimately patients) in a timely and efficient manner that will contribute to the organization achieving quality and profitability objectives.

Vision: Provide an integrated supply chain management strategy that maintains the right product in the right place at the right time in the most cost-effective manner toward the unified purpose of meeting the needs of the end consumer in providing quality patient care. This integration will involve manufacturer, distributor, group purchasing organization, Regional Health Corporations and System Office participants.

  • Encourage networking for sharing of ideas and leading practices

Objectives for Finance Pillar

  • Identify and implement organizational expense reduction opportunities
  • Collaborate on the link between supply chain and revenue
  • Promote product management (standardization and utilization) which contributes to quality patient care and results in reduced cost

Objectives for Growth Pillar

  • Achieve seamless integration of new RHCs
  • Support expansion of non-acute care programs and services
  • Expand and participate in programs that promote diversity and green initiatives

 

*Advanced Wound Care, Cardiology, Food and Nutrition, Laboratory, Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, Surgical Services.
