John A. Capasso, President and Chief Executive Officer
John Capasso has been employed by Catholic Health East since 2001 and has more than 25 years of experience in health care and senior living services. He is currently serving in the role of president and CEO of the Continuing Care Management Services Network (CCMSN). Prior to this role, Capasso served as the president and CEO of St. Joseph of the Pines Health System, a continuing care ministry providing a variety of housing and health care services to seniors in central North Carolina. Prior to joining St. Joseph of the Pines, Capasso served in a variety of executive roles at Asbury Services, Gaithersburg, Md., a provider of senior living services across multiple states. Before joining Asbury, Capasso was assistant vice president of clinical services at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md.
Capasso has a master of science degree in health services administration from George Washington University; a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa.; and is a certified healthcare executive with the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a licensed nursing home administrator.

Victoria Christian, Vice President, Clinical Improvement
Victoria Christian currently serves as vice president, clinical improvement for the Continuing Care Management Services Network (CCMSN). She is responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of quality initiatives for long-term and sub-acute care, assisted living, PACE, hospice and LTCH programs. Previously, Christian served in administrative positions with Mercy Health System of Southeastern Pennsylvania, most recently as administrator for both Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital skilled nursing facilities. She also served as a field surveyor for The Joint Commission for 10 years.
Christian received both her bachelor of science degree in nursing and M.B.A. from LaSalle University. She also completed a post-graduate certification program in nursing administration at Villanova University. Christian holds certifications in nursing administration and gerontology nursing; and she is licensed and certified as a nursing home administrator and certified as a sub-acute nursing home administrator. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Supportive Care Coalition: Pursuing Excellence in Palliative Care, a Catholic not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing access to quality palliative care which includes over 19 Catholic health care systems throughout the United States. |

 Patricia Gathers VP, Finance | |

Patricia Gathers, Vice President, Finance
Patricia Gathers currently leads the financial services function for two of CHESSM’s skilled nursing management contracts. In this role, Gathers has implemented numerous tactics to facilitate revenue growth, improve productivity and expense management. Since joining CHE in 2001, she has led Catholic Health East’s continuing care financial services function which provides strategic financial planning, board education, operational reviews, benchmarking services, information technology implementations and accounts receivable management to CHE’s numerous continuing care organizations. Gathers has served as a team leader for two important strategic system-wide initiatives which have resulted in significant organizational tactics highlighted in the CHE 10-year strategic plan.
Gather’s 20 years of experience has focused primarily on the health care industry were she has served in various consultant and management roles. In 2007, Gathers completed a Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean certification program sponsored by Villanova University to support her work in performance management and process reengineering.
Prior to joining CHE, Gathers served as the corporate controller for ACTS Retirement Life, one of the nation’s largest providers of continuing care services. Her prior experience also includes service at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Crozer Chester Medical Center and Arthur Andersen and Company. Gathers has received certifications in both public accounting and management accounting. She serves on the board of a local not-for-profit skilled nursing facility and is an associate with the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. |

 Kelly Hopkins VP, Finance and Growth | |

Joseph K. (Kelly) Hopkins, Vice President, Finance and Growth
Kelly Hopkins has more than 20 years experience working in continuing care retirement communities, long-term care, home health and hospice services. Prior to joining CHE, Hopkins was employed with St. Joseph of the Pines for nine years, the last seven as chief financial officer. He was responsible for the financial oversight of two continuing care retirement communities, home care operations and five low-income housing projects. During his last year, he also served as chief financial officer of Mercy Medical in Daphne, Ala.
Prior to joining St. Joseph of the Pines, Hopkins was the director of finance for MedVisit, the largest for-profit home health and hospice provider in North Carolina. His experience also includes health care consulting with both home health and hospice providers. Hopkins has worked with a number of skilled nursing facilities having started his career with Beverly Enterprises in South Carolina.

Tony West, Director, Information Technology
Tony West currently serves as director, information technology for the Continuing Care Management Services Network (CCMSN). Previously, West served as the director of information technology for St. Joseph of the Pines. During his more than 10 years with St. Joseph of the Pines, West has been instrumental in the success of major enterprise application implementations as well as providing project leadership in other operational endeavors in home health and in the continuing care setting.
West holds an associate’s degree in applied science in business administration as well an associate’s degree in applied science in accounting from Sandhills Community College. |

Christopher J. McLaughlin, Chief Operating Officer, Mercy Continuing Care Network
Christopher McLaughlin has more than 20 years experience in health care management. He has been with the Sisters of Providence Health System since June 2002 and is also part of the Continuing Care Management Services Network (CCMSN). As COO of the Mercy Continuing Care Network, he oversees the operations of four skilled nursing facilities, two residential care facilities, Western Massachusetts’ second largest home health agency, an adult day health program, a 118-unit independent living facility and a hospice program.
Previously, McLaughlin was vice president of reimbursement with Lexington Healthcare Group, Inc., a publicly traded, long-term care provider headquartered in Farmington, Conn. Before joining Lexington Healthcare, McLaughlin was vice president of payment systems for Lenox Healthcare, Inc., a privately owned operator of more than 70 skilled and assisted living facilities in 15 states.
McLaughlin has an M.B.A. from Western New England College and a bachelor of science degree in finance from Siena College. McLaughlin is also a licensed nursing home administrator. |

Glen Cooper, Executive Director, St. Peter’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Glen Cooper has been the executive director of St. Peter’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center since 2002, where he is responsible for the 160-bed facility and its 250 employees.
During his tenure, the Center opened a 40-bed sub-acute care unit and increased its admissions by more than 200 percent. As director, he has led the 10-year strategic planning process for St. Peter’s Health Care Services Continuing Care, which is comprised of: homecare, hospice, nursing homes and sub-acute care.
Before joining St. Peter’s Health Care Services in 2002, Cooper served as vice president/administrator of The Eddy Heritage House in Troy, N.Y., and as an assistant administrator at The Eddy Cohoes Rehabilitation Center and Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes, N.Y.
Cooper is active in the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, serving as a public policy committee member, political action committee member and nursing facility committee past member.
Cooper earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from The State University of New York at Plattsburgh. He earned a master of science degree in business management with a concentration in health services management from The State University of New York, Institute of Technology in Utica, N.Y. |
