Primary Role

The primary functions of Claims Services are as follows:

  • To prevent or reduce financial loss by setting appropriate indemnity and expenses and resolving claims within the established reserves

  • To direct and monitor outside defense counsel on HPL/GL and D&O liability cases to ensure high equality, cost effective legal services

  • To capture meaningful claims data for purposes of actuarial analysis for decisions on funding and premium allocation and for purposes of trend identification, identifying best practices and quality improvement

  • To provide clinical risk management and risk management educational services to the RHC and affiliate’s Risk Management Executives to prevent or reduce financial losses to CHE member organizations

  • To oversee and direct the CHE Risk Management Quality Improvement Process to identify potential quality improvement opportunities through claims analysis, trending, and information sharing to ensure that the RHCs are implementing appropriate quality improvement plans
