Clearwater, Florida BayCare Health System was established in 1997 when the Tampa Bay area's leading not-for-profit health care organizations came together through a joint operating agreement. The system now includes nine hospitals, plus additional outpatient and ancillary services, that together seek to advance the health of their patients and their communities. Member hospitals are Mease Countryside, Mease Dunedin, Morton Plant, Morton Plant North Bay, St. Anthony’s, St. Joseph’s, St. Joseph’s Children’s, St. Joseph’s Women’s, St. Joseph’s Hospital North (opening 2010) and South Florida Baptist. The original sponsors of St. Anthony's and St. Joseph's were the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany. Fort Lauderdale, Florida Founded in 1955 in Fort Lauderdale, Holy Cross Hospital is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, New York, Pennsylvania, Pacific West Community.
