Catholic Health East Names New Vice President of Compliance and Internal Audit

Kim Lansford, Vice President of Compliance & Internal Audit

Newtown Square, Pa., Monday, January 26, 2009 -- Following the completion of an intensive internal and national search process, Catholic Health East (CHE) has appointed Kimberly Lansford as its new vice president of compliance and internal audit. The appointment was effective January 5, 2009.

Lansford’s major areas of responsibility include the continued development and implementation of CHE’s compliance and internal audit programs; providing strategic and administrative guidance to senior management and governance in relation to business risks; and monitoring the effectiveness of the control environment.

Lansford brings a great deal of expertise and experience to her new position. Prior to joining CHE, she was vice president and chief compliance officer at Saint Joseph’s Health System, Inc., Atlanta, Ga., (a regional health corporation of CHE) where she oversaw all aspects of the corporate compliance program. She managed the planning, design and maintenance of system-wide compliance programs, management reporting, compliance education and training program, and compliance policies and procedures for Saint Joseph’s 410-bed acute care specialty hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital, community clinics for the underserved, foundation, physician practice, retail pharmacy, and clinical and pre-clinical research entities. Prior to that, Kim was chief compliance officer at Gwinnett Hospital System, Inc., in Lawrenceville, Ga., where she directed the corporate compliance program for two acute care hospitals, a psychiatric hospital, in- patient rehabilitation facility, ambulatory surgery center, skilled nursing facility, foundation and several physician practices/clinics.

Lansford earned her master’s in health law, magna cum laude, from Shepard Broad Law Center, Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and her bachelor of science in nursing from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla. Kim is an active community member and has been a speaker at many state and national conferences. “I am excited to be given the opportunity to further develop and implement the compliance and internal audit programs for one of the premier health care systems in the country,” said Lansford.
