ORLANDO, Oct. 20, 2008 -- Kronos Incorporated, a worldwide leader in developing and delivering software and services that enable organizations to reduce costs, and increase productivity, has presented Catholic Health East with its 2008 Best Practices Award. This award, which honors outstanding organizations that have achieved excellence in the use of Kronos applications, was presented at the Kronos annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.

“For 10 years now, Kronos has recognized a short list of Best Practices Award winners who use Kronos technology to achieve extraordinary results in managing their workforce,” stated Aron Ain, Kronos chief executive officer. “This outstanding group of customers represents the ever-expanding opportunities to use Kronos software and services to effectively manage the workforce.”

Catholic Health East was recognized for best practices in implementation. Through internal and external benchmarking, CHE recognized a need to improve its approach to productivity management. CHE established an enterprise-wide productivity program that uses the analytic tool within Kronos for Healthcare to monitor performance and examine hospital comparative data. CHE has completed phase one of a two-phase implementation approach. In the first phase, CHE conducted pilot programs and implemented the productivity program in 19 of the system’s acute care hospitals.

Anna Marie Butrie, vice president, operations improvement and Debbie Coakley, director, who have been leading this initiative system-wide, proudly accepted the award on behalf of Catholic Health East. “We believe this achievement could not have occurred without the leadership of the productivity champions and the support of the Visionware coordinators who have worked diligently in incorporating the KronosVisionware tool into each organization’s productivity program,” said Butrie.
