Catholic Health East Promotes Kenneth A. Becker
Vice President of Advocacy and Government Relations Assumes Fund Development Responsibilities

Newtown Square, Pa., Monday, July 28, 2008 – Catholic Health East (CHE) announced the promotion of Kenneth A. Becker, CHE’s vice president of advocacy and government relations since 2000. Effective immediately, Becker has been appointed vice president of advocacy, government relations and fund development.
Since 2007, in addition to his other duties, Becker has been overseeing CHE’s Fund Development Council. In his newly expanded role, he will be responsible for advancing the health system’s philanthropic and fund development strategies. He will work with RHCs/JOAs in a consulting role, enhancing collaborative efforts and the sharing of best practices, with the goal of increasing their individual and collective abilities to identify, seek and achieve additional funding to support key ministry objectives.

Prior to joining CHE, Becker was the national grassroots director for the American Hospital Association (AHA) in Washington D.C. In that position, he was responsible for creating and maintaining AHA’s national grassroots/advocacy network and served as political and advocacy liaison for the association’s 5,000 members and 100 state and metropolitan hospital associations. Becker received his Masters degree in Public Policy from American University in Washington, D.C. and his B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO.
