CHE Introduces Program for Excellence in Ministry

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – On October 2-3, 2007, CHE inaugurated its Excellence in Ministry Program for senior leaders throughout the system. Excellence in Ministry is a dynamic program, based in our experience as leaders in today's healthcare environment. Building upon the knowledge gained in the Foundations of Catholic Healthcare program, Excellence in Ministry will assist leaders in both the knowledge and application of the faith tradition that grounds our ministry at Catholic Health East. Excellence in Ministry will take place through a series of 8 stable cohorts of approximately 30 persons each. Each cohort will meet for two days, twice a year, for 3 years. This is an ongoing formation experience, one that provides a community of peers as well as a source of knowledge. Invited senior leaders are expected to participate in the Excellence in Ministry process, and active participation in one of the cohorts will be integral to advancement as a leader within Catholic Health East.

This program is comprised of six 2-day sessions scheduled over a period of three years. Colleagues from throughout CHE will be enrolled in "cohort groups", enabling them to experience each of these 2-day sessions as a stable learning community. Colleagues in cohort 1 attended their first 2-day session in October. Cohort group 2 can accommodate seven more individuals; Cohort 3 is already filled; and space is available in Cohort 4. The first two sessions of each cohort group are listed below:

Cohort 2: January 29-30 and June 3-4, 2008
Cohort 3: May 21-22 and September 18-19, 2008
Cohort 4: June 23-24, 2008 and January 21-22, 2009
