Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Appointed by Catholic Health East

Catholic Health East (CHE), one of the nation's leading Catholic healthcare systems, announced the recent appointment of Clayton J. Fitzhugh as vice president, chief human resources officer. Fitzhugh most recently served as senior vice president, human resources and operational performance at the Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a regional health corporation and member of CHE. In addition, he has served in a variety of capacities involving human resources, quality management, corporate development and training, and general administration in number of health care and other corporate organizations. In this position, Fitzhugh will oversee the functions of human resources and organizational effectiveness that involve talent identification, general human resources, leadership formation, and compensation and benefits.

He brings to executive leadership a unique set of skills, including expertise in strategic and tactical planning, human resource/organization development management, restructuring, reengineering, six-sigma application, and the ability to engage employees at all levels in achieving results," said Bob Stanek, president and CEO of Catholic Health East.

Fitzhugh holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana in 1980. In addition, he has served two terms as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award. He frequently serves as guest lecturer and speaker at a number of educational institutions and corporate organizations.
