Vice President, Leadership Development Appointed at Catholic Health East

Catholic Health East (CHE), one of the nation's leading Catholic health care systems, announced the recent appointment of Anita K. Jensen as vice president, leadership development.

In this position, Jensen will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive approach for leadership development at CHE and regional health corporation/ joint operating agreement (RHC/JOA) levels that leverages leadership initiatives within the RHCs/JOAs themselves and is fully integrated with mission formation and board governance. This will include competency based assessment, selection and development of CHE executives, planning of CHE's governance and management leadership conferences, development of a leadership curriculum and other best-practices resources, and executive orientation.

Before joining CHE, Jensen most recently served as first vice president, head of executive leadership and development, at Merrill Lynch, where she designed, developed and managed the first firm-wide talent management process for key executives, and developed the Leadership 360 process and leadership education and development for the firm's top 1400 senior executives. Prior to that, she held similar positions at JPMorgan Chase, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Citigroup.

Jensen holds a PhD in human and organizational systems, from Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, California. In addition, she holds degrees in organizational development, social work and psychology.

Jensen replaces Peter Giammalvo, Ph.D., who is currently the chief learning officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Catholic Health East is a multi-institutional Catholic health system, which is co-sponsored by 12 religious congregations and Hope Ministries, a Public Juridic Person within Catholic Health East.
