Catholic Health East Colleagues Named Fellows of the American College Healthcare Executives

Catholic Health East (CHE), one of the nation’s leading Catholic health care systems, announced the recent appointments of eight CHE colleagues as Fellows of the American College Healthcare Executives. This is the highest achievement in healthcare management and demonstrates professional accomplishment and commitment to leadership excellence to patients and to the community.

CHE colleagues earning this recognition include David C. Capone, executive vice president finance/CFO, St. Francis Hospital, Wilmingon, DE; Heather K. Dexter, vice president, surgery, Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Atlanta, GA; Jill B. Bowen, RN, vice president of patient care services, and Eileen F. Skinner, president and CEO, Mercy Health System of Maine, Portland, ME; Joseph Flamini, VP, administration & facility operations, St. Francis Health System, Trenton, NJ; Mary E. LaRowe, president and CEO, St. James Mercy Health System, Hornell, NJ; Elaine Bauer, VP, strategy development, CHE, Newtown Square, PA; and Diane Denny, VP, quality and patient safety, CHE, Newtown Square, PA.

To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements; including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Only 5,400 healthcare executives currently hold this distinction. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years. The recipients were honored at the ACHE’s 73rd Convocation held recently in in New Orleans, LA.

Catholic Health East is a multi-institutional Catholic health system, which is co-sponsored by 12 religious congregations and Hope Ministries, a Public Juridic Person within Catholic Health East. Based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, the system provides the means to ensure the continuation of the Catholic identity and operational strength of the Sponsors' health ministries, which are located within 11 eastern states from Maine to Florida.
