Vice President, Clinical Improvement for Continuing Care Appointed by Catholic Health East
January 23, 2006
Victoria Christian
Catholic Health East (CHE), one of the nation's leading Catholic healthcare systems, announced the recent appointment of Victoria Christian as Vice President, Clinical Improvement for Continuing Care.
In this position, Christian will provide direction and support across CHE's many continuing care programs, which include sub-acute and long term care facilities, as well as assisted/independent living, and continuing care retirement communities. Christian's major areas of focus will be to improve quality and enhance safety, facilitate operational clinical initiatives, promote innovation and identify/develop model practices for care management and delivery.
"As consumer preference is altered with the aging of the Baby Boomer, clearly signals have emerged pointing to significant opportunities for enhancing care of those who are functionally frail. Vicki comes to us with a wealth of experience; she will be a tremendous asset in leading these discussions and creating those innovative care delivery models that seek to ensure coordination, person-centeredness and partnership with other community and faith-based organizations across the care continuum," said Diane Denny, CHE's Vice President, Quality and Patient Safety.
Vicki joins CHE from Mercy Health System, (MHS) Conshohocken, PA, a member of Catholic Health East, where she was a Senior Director of Continuing Care Services. While at MHS, she served in various progressively responsible leadership roles including administrator and director of nursing since 1991. Vicki has also served as an Intermittent Surveyor for long term care, sub acute, dementia and hospital accreditation programs with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations since 1997. Vicki is a registered nurse and a licensed nursing home administrator. She received both her BSN and MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
Catholic Health East is a multi-institutional Catholic health system, which is co-sponsored by 15 religious congregations and Hope Ministries, a Public Juridic Person within Catholic Health East. Based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, the System provides the means to ensure the continuation of the Catholic identity and operational strength of the Sponsors' health ministries, which are located within 11 eastern states from Maine to Florida.
The System includes acute care hospitals, free-standing and hospital-based skilled nursing facilities, residential facilities, free-standing behavioral health and rehabilitation facilities, and numerous ambulatory and community based health services. Catholic Health East facilities employ approximately 43,000 full time employees as partners in ministry.
