New Director of Human Resources Named by Catholic Health East

Catholic Health East (CHE), one of the nation's leading Catholic healthcare systems, recently announced the appointment of Sharon Barnes as the Director of Human Resources and Administration for the CHE System Office, based in Newtown Square, PA.
In this position, Sharon acts as a human resources business partner for the System Office and for IT Shared Services in Conshohocken. She provides strategic human resources leadership in areas of staffing, employee relations and organizational and managerial effectiveness.
Sharon has over twenty years of experience in several areas of human resources management including staffing, employee relations, policy development, compliance and organizational effectiveness.

Before coming to CHE, Sharon served as Director of Human Resources for Intracorp/Cigna Corporation where she was responsible for the full range of human resources programs and services. She holds an undergraduate degree from Howard University and a graduate degree from Temple University.
Catholic Health East is a multi-institutional Catholic health system, which is co-sponsored by 15 religious congregations and Hope Ministries, a Public Juridic Person within Catholic Health East. Based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, the System provides the means to ensure the continuation of the Catholic identity and operational strength of the Sponsors' health ministries, which are located within 11 eastern states from Maine to Florida.
The System includes acute care hospitals, free-standing and hospital-based skilled nursing facilities, residential facilities, free-standing behavioral health and rehabilitation facilities, and numerous ambulatory and community based health services. Catholic Health East facilities employ approximately 43,000 full time employees as partners in ministry.
