Description of the Best Practice
ART GALLERY AT MOUNT SAINT VINCENT
Implementation
Since 1995, the Gallery has offered residents exposure to a variety of artistic styles ranging from traditional to abstract works of art. Every two months, a new community artist is featured in the Gallery and expected to share talents and gifts directly with the residents through a variety of demonstrations and are classes. "Childhood Memories" is a unique multi-media art project, partnering residents with local college area students, that has been recognized by the Healthcare Assembly for Innovation. The facility hosted the "Elder Initiative" state-wide program which trains local artists and healthcare providers on a unique dance and movement program for elders, phase two will partner local writers with elders. The "System Works" exhibit featured the artwork of employees and will be an annual event.
