Description of the Best Practice & Implementation
Following the devastation of Hurricane Mitch, Holy Cross Hospital responded by developing the Mission of Mercy project to assist our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua and Honduras. The initiative began by collecting food, clothing, medical supplies and monetary donations.

Since November, the Mission of Mercy has sponsored four medical groups to serve the people in Nicaragua. There missions provided spiritual, physical and psychological assistance to the people in Nicaragua. The Mission also provided water and electricity for several medical clinics.

We have a great rapport with the Minister of Health and the United States Army. Both have been very helpful to us in our mission. A great relationship has been established by the teams. We will nurture these relationships by returning to the same areas and sharing our resources.
