Description of Services
A member of St. Peter's Health Care Services, St. Peter's Addiction Recovery Center (SPARC) was established in 1972 and provides comprehensive treatment for patients in all stages of recovery.

SPARC helps patients regain control of their lives and learn how to achieve physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, without dependency on alcohol or other chemical substances.

All of our services are Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredited and certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). SPARC serves the residents of New York's Capital District providing inpatient care at both St. Peter's Hospital in Albany and suburban Guilderland; outpatient rehabilitation services are available at 6 service centers.

All of our treatment plans are approved by a multi-disciplinary team with qualified health professionals and finalized with physician approval. All SPARC staff receive ongoing professional development training to ensure that they maintain the highest standards of care.

Fees and Insurance
SPARC accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid, and we have a sliding scale, through MercyCare Programs, for those who are uninsured or in need of assistance. SPARC-Managed Care, a department of SPARC and St. Peter's Health Care Services, also manages substance abuse benefits for enrollees who are covered through Capital District Physicians Health Plan, Inc. (CDPHP)
