Description of Services
St. Anthony's Behavioral Medicine Department provides high quality, compassionate care to adults suffering from acute mental health disorders who are in need of short-term psychiatric emergency room care or inpatient psychiatric services. Specialized, comprehensive emergency room services are available to high-risk psychiatric patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, a psychiatric inpatient unit serves as a 50-bed Baker Act receiving facility and provides a safe and supportive treatment environment while preparing patients to successfully return to the community, as soon as possible, with support and linkage to community-based mental health services and other needed resources.
