Why Diversity?

Why Diversity?

"Creating a diverse community is essential for all CHE facilities," says Sr. Juliana Casey, IHM, CHE’s Executive Vice President-Mission Integration, because it speaks to the very essence of who CHE is:

  • CHE is a Catholic organization built on a history and tradition of justice and inclusivity. All people are welcomed and honored.

  • CHE is co-sponsored by 15 organizations, whose histories and values demonstrate a strong spirit of reaching out to those who are on the edges, who are different. To be true to the spirit of the Sponsors, CHE must do the same within the organization.

  • CHE has a set of Core Values that demand inclusiveness and openness to all.

  • A diverse organization can better respond to the needs of the diverse communities we serve, and greater diversity among colleagues can only enrich us and through us, those we serve.

  • Currently, CHE is lacking in the richness that a diverse community can provide. Greater, more valued diversity can only enrich us and through us, those we serve.

  • CHE has a strong Employer of Choice Initiative. Diversity is essential to becoming an Employer of Choice.

  • In an inclusive culture, we can all learn and grow and become more human.
