CHE files its Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax (Form 990) annually with the IRS. Consistent with regulations governing the public disclosure of materials relating to tax exempt organizations, CHE makes copies of the annual return available upon request, directed to Michael C. Hemsley, Esquire, Vice President, Legal Services & General Counsel, 3805 West Chester Pike, Suite 100, Newtown Square, PA 19703, 610.355.2047, mhemsley@che.org.
Policies Governing Charity Care and Payments from Uninsured Patients
Catholic Health East collaborates with its affiliated health care providers to develop System policies on certain topics which reflect the expected practices of all constituent corporations within the System. Two such policies are the CHE Charity Care Policy [34K PDF], and the Payments for Services from Uninsured Patients Policy [19K PDF]. Given the diversity of CHE's affiliates and consistent with CHE's governance and operating principles, each Constituent Corporation adapts such policies for their particular circumstances. The reader should refer to each individual CHE affiliate’s website for the specific terms of such policies adopted by and governing that organization, and may request a copy of the policies from that organization.
